Conferring

     I will be at the Willamette Writers Conference this weekend, three days of presentations and panels on a wide array of topics relating to the act of writing and the process of getting writing into the world for people to read. Luckily it isn’t my first conference or I would be adrift in the sea of decisions. I learned from other conferences in other professions to plan ahead, pick what looks like the most pertinent to my interests at the time and then stay flexible. Chances are that I will miss at least one of my careful selections in conversation with someone.  I will soak up inspiration and enthusiasm and return to my routine refreshed.  I might even learn something. Hard not to when surrounded by so many people with talent and expertise.
