Finally Committed

I did it! I took the final steps last night to publish Carico Trails as an e-book available on Kindle. It is right there on Amazon ready for enthusiastic readers.

Writing is the fun part. E-publishing is the easy part. The hardest part lies ahead of me. Now I have to market and publicize and hope some of you will be gracious enough to give me a chance and buy it. I’ve never been good at selling anything.

I can be very good at procrastination. Moving has given me a great excuse not to publish. No time to market in the midst of that chaos. Then there is my underlying fear of throwing a party that no one will come to. What if none of you like it or buy it? I like Seth and his fellow characters. They have become old friends for me, but potential readers have never met them. Great fuel for putting off the day when I turn my baby over to the world.

Hey, it’s a novel. People can read it or not, as they choose. It’s not like this is a play or movie script that producers, directors, actors and everybody else mucks with before an audience sees it. Now that would be an exercise in letting go!
